Description Book owned by Dr. William Fraser Tolmie during his time at Fort Nisqually: "Neurypnology: Rationale of Nervous Sleep" by James Braid. The spine reads "Braid on Hypnotism or Nervous Sleep". Title page reads "Neurypnology; or the Rationale of Nervouse Sleep, considered in relation with Animal Magnetism." 265 pages long including index, plus two other pages of ads for more books by the same publisher. Measures 6 7/8 inches tall, 4 3/8 inches long, and 3/4 inches wide. Cloth bound. Published by John Churchill in London, 1843. Signed and dated by Tolmie on the title page, 1844.
