Object ID Number 1987.23.02
Object Name Caddy
Description Rosewood tea caddy, opens to reveal two lidded compartments inside, which appear to have been lined with paper of some sort. Both lids are present, and have small round handles in the middle. The divisor in between these two compartments is loose, and will fall out of place if not handled with care. There are four small knobs for legs which the box sits on, an inset lock with a brass plate, and a square wooden handle that sits on the lid and is almost flush with the top. No cracks, exterior in excellent quality; interior in good condition overall. A tea caddy like this one would be part of any complete tea service. Measures 12 inches long at top, 10 3/4 inches long at base; 6 inches wide at the top, and 4 7/8 inches wide at base; 6 3/4 inches tall including handle (which measures 4 3/4 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide).
