Description Two Native American canoe paddles, cedar, dating back to early-mid 1800s. The style is typical of Puget Sound Salish design, with the 'drip tip' and handle grip. Likely used in a standard 2-3 man canoe. Paddle 1984.31.01 measures 59 1/2 inches long, 6 1/4 inches wide at largest part of the blade, and 2 1/2 inches wide at widest part of the handle. Paddle 1984.31.02 measures 57 1/2 inches long, 6 3/8 inches wide at largest part of the blade and 2 3/8 inches wide at widest part of the handle.
