Object Name Bead
Description 28 "white heart" beads, made of glass, red and white in color. The accession actually has 100 beads, but the rest of this particular accession is strung and on display, leaving only 28 beads in storage. These beads were originally found in a warehouse in Eastern Canada, and HBC is known to have sold white hearts in strings of 100s as a staple of the fur trade. Each bead has an average diameter of 1/4 inch, and is a little more than 1/8 inch wide.
