Object Name Basket
Description Athapascan Birch Bark Basket. Authenticated as Athapascan by Jack Curtwright. Acquired for the Fort's Permanent Collection because of Dr. Tolmie's own ethnographic collections (now at the Royal BC Museum), which included some Athapascan artifacts. Measures 5 inches tall, 9 inches by 8 inches wide at the rim, and 6 1/2 inches by 5 inches wide at the base. The body of the basket is roughly rectangular in shape, with an oval rim.
